York to Edinburgh

 October 8

We’re on the move today - a 4 hour train from York to Edinburgh. I got up early to shower and pack. We walked, dragging our luggage, twenty minutes to the train station and had a coffee while we waited.

The train ride was over 4 hours and ended at Edinburgh (no problem for us) because of flooding north of there. I enjoyed the scenery - green rolling hills dotted with sheep.

Once in Edinburgh, we took an Uber to our Airbnb and got settled in. We set out to explore and looked in a few shops for Harris Tweed. We snuck into St Giles cathedral where the musicians were practicing. More strolling and we settled on an Italian restaurant and had an amazing meal!

After dinner, we strolled through town and stopped in a pub to join the locals cheering for their Arsenal team. They won! So we got to cheer along with them!

Back at the room, we found and watched the 2nd episode of the great British bake-off!
