October 18
This morning we headed back to Stow-on-the-Wild and found a nice coffee shop for a small breakfast. David is getting exhausted by the pace we’re keeping, but he is an excellent driver. I’m just trying to see a lot while we’re here. We walked around the town and saw the st Edwards church and their yew tree door and we did some shopping,

No one was near to take our picture so we decided to try to take two and photo shop us together! 😆 |
From here we were driving towards Broadway, but missed a roundabout exit and ended up finding the Donnington Brewey! A happy accident for sure!

This one could be a painting! The water wheel that provides power to the brewery or spring water to the beer!? |

Gorgeous!
From here, with beer in the boot, we drove to Broadway. I had heard it was a great town to visit.
I just can’t get these photos to line up on this blog! Intermixed are photos from the Lygon Arms hotel, which I would recommend as a perfect home base to anyone visiting the Cotswolds. It also started raining and the weather is expected to be bad for the rest of our journey. I stopped in a bookstore and got a kick out of the Spare Us book. I have read his book Spare and it is ironic that a man that wanted his privacy decided to write about the dysfunction of his family so publicly.
Anyway after we left Broadway, we headed straight to Stratford upon Avon and arrived a little before 2. We visited Shakespeare’s birthplace, the Rebuilt Royal Shakespeare theater (we missed the backstage tour), his burial site, and this precious and very old town.
Finally, we met up with Amy, Alex, and Maya (19 months) for a lovely dinner at the Miller and Carter Steakhouse.
Once back in Chipping Norton, we made a cozy fire and caught up on the British Bake Off
Tomorrow we head to Bath!
