St Andrews to London

October 14

Today we left early and drove back to Edinburgh and made it in time to catch an earlier train to London. We arrived in London a little before 3 and then took an underground to Charing Cross which was a 2 minute walk to our AirBnb. As we rounded the corner from Charing cross, it was obvious that a group of Palestinans were gathered at Trafalgar Square in protest of the going’s on in Israel. They were shooting fireworks and we just ducked into our place to settle in. We did a much needed load of laundry and just rested a little. After laundry we decided to go out for a drink and landed just steps away at the Ship and Shovel. The whole time we were there, a helicopter hovered just above us, obviously watching the activity at Trafalgar Square. Anyway, all was fine and just nearby was an underground shopping area. We ducked into a M&S for some things to take back to our room. We shared a bottle of wine and some dinner and then settled in for the night. Tomorrow we start a two day marathon. Westminster section, Churchill war rooms, Windsor castle, Westminster Abbey! Then we pick up our car on Monday morning and head for the Cotswolds.
