Edinburgh from Stem to Stern

October 10

This morning we had a croissant breakfast very near our AirBNB and the headed to the Royal Mile to meet our tour. With our tour, we headed up the Royal Mile to the Edinburgh castle entrance on the East side. There are a lot of things about Edinburgh castle that tie it to Game of Thrones. The Edinburgh castle is built upon “Castle Rock” and has been standing there for over 900 years. It has a set of stairs called the Lang Stairs (Lannisters). It is a very historical place that has seen 900 years of changes of rule and destruction and rebuilding of its buildings.

The great hall whose ceiling has been there for centuries without any nails

After the castle, we went to a shop I had noticed and bought a purse (Harris Tweed) that I thought I would enjoy, stopped in at the White Hart Inn (a pub since 1516) and had a drink. Then dropped off our stuff at the room and got an Uber to the Britannia! This was just fantastic!!

After our Britannia tour, we came back to our room then ventured out to find dinner. We ended up at another Italian restaurant and had another delicious meal!
