Villa Romano and Agrigento

Today we had our nice breakfast and left early to make the long drive to Agrigento via the Villa Romano del Casale. The villa was an incredible find back in the 1800’s and the magnificent mosaic floors were preserved for all to see. (Some

 examples are below.








After this visit, we drove to Agrigento (a few questionable roads, but we made it) and met our hosts. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we have a great room with an incredible view!

We walked around town during their seista and then, when everything reopened, we had a Sicilian dinner and then shopped in the old town. 







Tomorrow we’ll visit the main attraction in Agrigento - the valley of the kings.
