Covington to Capri

October 3-4, 2024

If it’s October, it’s Europe! And we’re off! Amanda drove us to the airport. We ran into Wendy at the airport and had a nice visit! We took a flight to Philadelphia out of Nola, then on a beautiful 787 from Philly to Naples. Once landed, we took a taxi to the port and a ferry to Capri and another taxi to our B&B. The whole trip took 19 hours.

Photos: Mr Vesuvius on our approach to Naples. Our 787 from which we had to walk down a portable stairway and to the airport.

Photos on the ferry: we had beer and wine from the onboard bar for the 1 hour ride. Soon, the workers stood guard with barf bags. Luckily, David and I are not too susceptible to that. But several others were not having fun. 🤮

We took a taxi from the Marina Grande to a steep lane where we would find our B&B and meet our host. It’s very nice and we have a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius.

Then we headed out to the town of Capri - not far but straight up! The steps we’ve seen before - they’re designed for donkeys to walk up.It was exhausting!

We had a bite to eat at the Quisisana Hotel patio. Fancy but pricey!  After a little exploring, we walked back to our B&B and turned in early!
