Attica
Today we learned a little about Athens. After a full breakfast onboard, we met our tour guide at the buses and took a sightseeing tour of Peraeus, the port town, and Athens, or Attica, as our tour guide explained.
Our tour disappointingly did not take us to the Acropolis or the Parthenon, but we did see the first Olympic stadium from 4 BC completely renovated with marble and still used today. We visited the National archeological museum as well.
Once back on board, we had a nice dinner at The Restaurant while we set sail for Volos. At the pool, we did meet two friends traveling from The Boston area. One grew up in Pensacola so we had lots to talk about.
